2005 – Robin Baj
The Port Credit Alumni Association is pleased to announce that the recipient of our 2005 alumni scholarship is Robin Baj.
Robin has a truly outstanding academic record – he earned over 90% in every one of his courses, during each of his four years at PCSS.
In addition to his classes, Robin was busy participating in many extra-curricular activities. He was a member of the Student’s Council, Mathematics Club, Visual Arts Council, International Action Club, Chemistry Club, student newspaper and yearbook.
Robin was a journalist for Port Credit’s school newspaper, writing reviews and editorials. In the Chemistry Club, he participated in demonstrations, and tested experiments for next year’s SciTech program. Robin was active in the Spanish Club, and helped promote PCSS’s Spanish programme. He was also the 2004 president of the Remembrance Day Committee and 2004 / 2005 treasurer of the International Action Club. During Robin’s tenure in the Mathematics Club, he assisted younger students and peers with math problems, and participated in national math contests.
In addition to all these activities, Robin found time to do work in the Port Credit community. He donated his time to the Rotary Club Travelogues, the Mississauga Waterfront Festival, the Mississauga Canada Day Celebrations, and the re-election campaign of Paul Szabo (MP of Mississauga South).
Robin has been accepted at the University of Toronto, faculty of Arts & Science, where he plans to study Life Sciences.
