2017 – Rohan Dadak
For the Alumni Award for Excellence – University-Bound Recipient.
This Alumni Award is presented to the graduate who, over their secondary school career, has been actively involved in a wide range of school and community leadership activities, while maintaining a high academic standard. The award winner must be accepted into and attend to go to a Canadian university in the fall.
This year’s Alumni University – Bound Scholarship Recipient is Rohan Dadak. Rohan sees himself who tries to be the best individual that he can possibly be. Rohan’s most significant role at school was tutoring younger students in core subjects such as physics, math, and chemistry.
One moment of his athletic career at PCSS saw his senior boys’ basketball team lose a hotly-contested playoff game to TLK. Rohan was grateful for the way the PCSS crowd cheered the team on and many congratulated the team on a fine season. Rohan will never forget the character of the PCSS fans.
Rohan is pursing a career in pharmaceuticals, research or medicine. He hopes to be remembered as a role model for future generations of PCSS graduates.
The PCSS Alumni Association wishes Rohan all the best in his future endeavours. We know that Rohan will represent PCSS well.
2017 – Sean Robinson
For the Alumni Award for Excellence – College-Bound Recipient.
This Alumni Award is presented to the graduate who, over their secondary school career, has been actively involved in a wide range of school and community leadership activities, while maintaining a high academic standard. The award winner must be accepted into and attend to go to a Canadian college in the fall.
This year’s Alumni College – Bound Scholarship Recipient is Sean Robinson. In September 2017, Sean will be attending Humber College in the Heating, Refrigeration , and Air Conditioning program.
Sean’s most memorable activity at PCSS was being a camp counsellor for the grade 9 orientation program. He enjoyed making the grade 9’s feel more comfortable with their new big school. His most significant event was the pep-rally buyout in his grade 11 year that included his varsity lacrosse team. He loved the meeting of friends at the game.
Sean is the guy with the big smile, big handshake and hug. He hopes the PCSS vibe he experienced continues

2017 – Zahra Hasan
For the Alumni Award in Memory of Terry Garbutt – Founder of the PCHS/PCSS Alumni Association.
This Alumni Award, in memory of Terry Garbutt, “Leading Through Innovation” is presented to the graduating student who meets the following criteria:
- Has demonstrated leadership by implementing a new idea to help the school or community.
- Has been involved in a wide range of school and community activities over their secondary school career.
- Must be interviewed by the Alumni Scholarship Award Committee
This year’s Alumni Terry Garbutt “Leading Through Innovation” Award Recipient is Zahra Hasan.
Zahra is being recognized for her efforts in the creation and building of the “STEAM” week. STEAM represents Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Music. STEAM week is a series of lectures and performances featuring a wide range of professionals to inform students about future careers. Zahra was also the President of the SciTech Student Council
In September 2017 Zahra will be attending the University of Waterloo’s Life Science’s program in Life Physics hoping to major in the field of medical diagnostic imaging and pathology. Zahra hopes to be remembered for her dedication to engage the student body and help students grow into successful leaders.
